What does the Hebrew word for “faithful” (AMAN) mean?
• To build up or support.
• To foster as a parent or nurse.
• To be true.
God is trustworthy = He is faithful. One should always put their confidence in Him. Faithfulness means He is worthy of your commitment and trust. He will NEVER let you down.
Do you see that God: sees you, cares about you, works for & with you, helps & protects you? He grows His people in the midst of trials, tribulation and setbacks.
Scripture: Deuteronomy 7:6-11, 1 Peter 2:9-10.
How does God being faithful to us affect me/us?
God is our Father: 1 Corinthians 1:1-3 & 9, 2 Corinthians 1:3. God is My Father: Romans 1:7, Romans 6:4, Romans 8:14-15, Galatians 4:6 My honest and reliable Father: Titus 1:2-3, Numbers 23:19-23, 2 Timothy 2:11-12 Total trust in the Father: Psalm 7:1, Psalm 16:1, Psalm 18:1,Pslam 36:7, 1 Timothy 4:10, Ephesians 4:6
Do you fully comprehend what a “Faithful God” can do for you and with you?
There is a powerful comfort in the promise of the faithful God which “anchors the soul” keeping us in the safe waters of the harbor far from the treacherous rocks of danger, Hebrews 6:19.
1.MY FATHER GIVES GRACE AND PEACE. (Consider how amazing these gifts are for you.)
Scripture: Romans 1:7, 1 Corinthians 1:3, 2 Corinthians 1:2, Galatians 1:3, Ephesians 1:2, Philippians 1:2, Colossians 1:2, 1 Thessalonians 1:1
2. MY FATHER IS STRONGER THAN SATAN. (God binds Satan.)
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:13, James 4:6-8, 1 Peter 5:6-10.
We have the promise that Satan will never be able to overpower the Christian. God’s power is greater than Satan’s, 1 John 4:4. God tells us how Satan operates, 2 Corinthians 2:11, He does not possess divine power, 1 Peter 5:8-9. The only way to be taken by Satan is to turn to him and join in with him, 1 John 1:5-7, 1 Timothy 5:15, 2 Timothy 2:26.
I do not need to fall, 2 Peter 1:10.
3. MY FATHER WILLINGLY FORGIVES. (The forgiveness He offers is what allows us to “live” with ourselves, with our past and with our sins and still live a life with confidence!)
Scripture: Acts 26:18, Hebrews 10: 19-23, 1 John 1:7-9
The Christians who does sin has the continued promise of remission of sin. When we repent, confess and bear fruit, remission is granted repeatedly. Acts 8:22, 1 John 1:9, 2 Corinthians 7:10-12, Matthew 3:8.
Remember Jesus Christ is our faithful High priest, Hebrews 2:17-18.
4. MY FATHER DECLARES ME AS BLAMELESS & RIGHTEOUS. (It should blow our minds that God is willing to declare me as a blameless and righteous.)
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, Philippians 2:15, 2 Peter 3:14, Ephesians 1:4
Knowing that we make many mistakes, sinning when it is our desire to do righteousness, we are troubled about whether we can complete the journey. We serve a faithful God, who desires to preserve, protect, and help us. God desires to preserve us blameless unto the coming of Christ, in body, soul and spirit. Do you doubt He can do this? God is not finished with us when we make a mistake. He does not cast us aside in disgust. It was not His intention to save from past sin in order to let us be undone by future sin, Mark 16:16, Jude 24, 1 Corinthians 1:8-9, 2 Peter 1:10, Romans 5:9-10.
5. MY FATHER WORKS IN ME. (This means I am not alone and that I have help from the most powerful being there is!)
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:6 & 11, Philippians 2:13, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Thessalonians 3:3
God who created us, understands our strengths and our weaknesses. Our faithful God time and time again reminds us in His word that He will help us, He reminds us that He dwells in us and the He will strengthen us. 1 Peter 5:10, Ephesians 6:10-14, 2 Timothy 2:1, 2 Corinthians 1:10, 2 Corinthians 4:11, Colossians 1:13, 2 Timothy 3:11 “lord delivered me!”
CONCLUSION: Conviction that God is faithful directs our actions and motivates us to work tirelessly n the kingdom of heaven, 1 Corinthians 15:58.
Galatians 4:6 “And because you are the sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into Your hearts crying out “Abba Father.”
Luke 11:1-4 Lord teach us to pray.
